I wrote this program in a fit of boredom. Actually, I wanted a program that would be able to strip either PowerPC or 680x0 code from an application. I was sick and tired of having to keep separate programs for the different tasks, or simply not being able to remove 680x0 code at all. This program is compatible with system 7.1 and 7.5(.1), and should probably have no trouble with lesser systems (I just don't have any way to test it).
How to use Stripper:
The program is very simple to use, just drag the FAT application onto Stripper. It is smart enough to recognize what system you are using and strip the appropriate code. If you would like to remove the 680x0 code while you are using a 680x0 machine (or vice versa), simply hold down any of the modifier keys (command, option, control or shift) while you are dragging. If you don't want to drag something, just double-click Stripper and it will prompt you to search for an application to "slim up." The dialog that follows the standard "GetFile" is also smart enough to adapt itself to your system.
Payment:
There isn't any. Although I'm not asking for any money for this program, I won't argue if you would like to send me some (I will need it to help pay for college in a few months). I am distributing this program as "Postcardware" so if you plan to use my program a lot (or longer than 15 days), send me a bright colorful postcard of something from around the area you live in. My address is: (for the next few months anyway)

Legal Stuff:
If you use this program responsibly, it should not cause you any problems. But beware, you can easily render a program completely useless if you remove both the PowerPC and 680x0 code from it. As the author, I take no responsibility for anything that my program does. I have tested it myself and it appears not to have any bugs in it, but no one can ever take into consideration all of the variables (accidents, user incompetence, Dept. of Energy strikes, acts of God (or lawyers), acts of System Software, natural disasters, weather conditions, wars, etc.).
If you would like to include my program on a shareware/freeware CD or disk, I request that you contact me for permission and send me a (free) copy of the disk(s), or an offer to purchase the disk(s) at a reduced price.
Contacting Me:
If you find something wrong with my program or would like to suggest something, I would like to hear about it. I can currently be reached via E-Mail at:
xris@halcyon.com
If you don't have access to the Internet, include the bug report on a nice scenic postcard and send it along.
Future Versions:
I have plans to release one more version of this program. I would like to get a better icon, and add a few more features to recognize the presence of PowerPC or 680x0 code for the choice dialog (if you double clicked to open). And of course, and bug fixes that might show up unexpectedly. The next version should show up in a few weeks, I want to get it finished so I can start something else (something more fun to play with).
